Housed in the original grey ring-binders (Volume I a standard binder; Volumes IIa and IIb in the distinctive flip-format quick-reference binders), the set runs to many hundreds of pages and covers virtually every aspect of flying Concorde:
The manuals carry genuine working provenance: Sheppard’s name on the cover, period handwritten crew annotations in the margins, and a Record of Revisions completed and initialled by hand, with amendments entered through 1975–76 — dating the set to the very dawn of Concorde’s British Airways service. Some pages are stamped “For Training Purposes Only,” consistent with a crew training/reference set.
This is about as evocative and personal a Concorde artefact as exists. This set exists as part of our E.R. Sheppard Collection – a large assortment of manuals, handbooks, documentation, brochures and training material. We are proud to have this coherent, documented provenance group from one BA Concorde flight engineer’s library.
