A Manual Pressure Regulating Selector manufactured by Normalair Garett Ltd Yeovil. in October 1967. This system select switch was used for monitoring and controlling cabin pressure. It was located in the centre of the flight engineers panel.
This cockpit switch is accompanied by 3 original equipment labels attached to it dated from October 1967 through to 26th March 1968. The first two showing it as not cleared for the flight in March 1967 and October 1967 and the final one showing it ‘CLEARED FOR FLIGHT’ in March 1968 along with a handwritten note saying “Reference Normalair Letter to Sud A/WS/AR/A49414“. The switch was cleared for flight just 11 days before the UK maiden Concorde flight of 002. We expect therefore with a high level of confidence that this flew on the maiden flight of 002 with Brian Trubshaw at the controls.
It is in excellent condition, and now at 59 years of age a wonderful vintage piece of Concorde history complete with 3 original equipment certificates.
