‘Concorde: The Competitive Edge’ British Aircraft Corporation Sales Brochure

Original promotional sales brochure produced by the British Aircraft Corporation in 1973 to market Concorde to the world’s airlines. This isn’t a passenger giveaway — it’s a manufacturer’s sales tool aimed squarely at airline operators, making the commercial case for supersonic travel: higher block speed, dramatically shorter journey times, reduced passenger fatigue, wider “same-day” catchment areas, quicker check-ins, on-time performance and, ultimately, larger markets and greater profits for the carrier.

Prepared by British Aircraft Corporation (USA), Inc. of Arlington, Virginia (design by Providence Graphics, printed by Prince Lithograph Co., Fairfax, Virginia), it’s a scarcer US-market edition dating from the period when BAC was actively pitching Concorde to American airlines. A landscape-format, full-colour production, it’s a superb example of bold early-1970s graphic design — saturated colour spreads, world-map catchment and route diagrams, business-schedule comparisons and the classic Concorde script logo throughout.

Landscape full-colour brochure with 55 pages of content. Great overall condition with minor blemishes and marks to some pages, but no discolouring.

A genuine period piece from the height of the Concorde sales campaign and a striking display item for any SST or civil-aviation collection.
