Ice Detector Head

A Concorde ice detector head used for measuring ice buildup on the airframe. This sensor would relay information to the aircrafts advanced heating system and de-icing system found in the windows, engines, and distinctive wing leading edge. A key component which ensured comfortable, accurate, and safe flight for the Concorde.

A rare chance to own a visible exterior Concorde piece. As shown in the photos, this was located near the forward landing gear and ‘droop snoot’. Additionally, this part can be found in the 2003 Bonhams auction catalogue where a pair of ice detector heads sold for £1600.
