An Outer Cabin Window Glass Panel with Original Packaging & Provenance
This piece is the outer laminated glass of Concorde’s double-glazed cabin window (panneau extérieur / hublot). At cruise altitude, Concorde’s skin heated to 127°C due to air friction meaning the panes had to be constructed from special heat-resistant materials to withstand thermal expansion and pressure differentials. It was removed from Concorde G-BOAA, the first British Airways Concorde to enter passenger service. Concorde’s famously small windows are among her most instantly recognisable features, to reduce the risk of a rapid depressurisation at her 60,000-foot cruising altitude.
The pane retains its original Aérospatiale part label — “PAN. EXT. HUBLOT CONCORDE,” part no. FVAH00A201, dated 20 January 1994 and bearing an SPS inspection stamp. It is accompanied by its original packaging: a sealed bag and card sleeve, annotated in period by British Airways engineering “OFF CONCORDE / G-BOAA / WINDOW 38 RIGHT,” recording the exact airframe and window station.
Condition is consistent with service use and age — light surface patina and minor edge wear from removal — with the factory label and engineering markings remaining clearly legible.
